On October 4 1812, Percy Bysshe Shelley arrives in London. He takes up rooms at St James's Coffee house. He goes immediately to Skinner Street to meet William Godwin and his family. Shelley will visit the Godwin family almost daily for the next several weeks. Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin is in Dundee, Scotland, living with the family of William Baxter, a friend of William Godwin.
